Guys, I’ve made it two months!
It’s easy to say – I am obsessed with Singapore. This is the first time I am living more than a two-hour drive from my parents, the first time I am living outside of the U.S., and the first time I am going somewhere by myself knowing no one. I cried on the phone with a beautiful friend five hours before my plane took off, questioning, “what the hell am I doing, I am so unprepared for this.” Well, I’m glad I still got on that plane and made it to my new home.
In the times I’ve FaceTimed my parents and friends, I’ve been welcomed with, “you look so happy!” I am happy and adjusting very well. I feel I have been given this new life and told to go live. Singapore is so clean, safe, organized. My job, colleagues, apartment are all wonderful. I don’t have to drive in traffic, I get to practice my Mandarin every day, and meet new people.
The people here – they are the ones who make the ultimate difference in why I have loved my time here thus far and expect to keep loving it. And, I want to remember these people.
So, I will try to ask every person I meet to be a part of this blog. If participation is accepted, each will be asked:
- How long you have been in SG?
- What brought you to SG?
- Your most favorite memory in SG? It can be an event, place, person, food, anything!
- A picture to go with the favorite memory (your choice to include yourself or not)
I intend to experience every memory I receive and share with you: Singapore from all perspectives.
This will be a collection of memories for my own memories.
I hope you enjoy this journey with me, get inspired to meet new people and always experience new things.
xo, Isabella
